A 1.5-hectare family estate in Karaevli village, Tekirdağ, founded in 1997 by the Akın family. Modern viticulture on the rolling hills inland from the Sea of Marmara.
The vineyards lie at 70–90 m elevation under a climate tempered by the Marmara Sea. The soils are calciferous and loamy, with pockets of clay that contribute both structure and drainage.
Barel runs an on-site restaurant alongside its tastings — among the closest estate winery–restaurants to Istanbul. The producer is best known for its Merlot and Syrah.
