Uçmakdere Winery
Uçmakdere, Şarköy (Tekirdağ)
Tasting Indigenous grapes
A boutique winery in Uçmakdere village on the southern Thrace coast — wedged between the Sea of Marmara and the Ganos Mountains. Annual production is around 10,000 bottles; head winemaker Işıl Bulutsuz has led the cellar since 2018.
Uçmakdere is one of the most isolated viticultural pockets in Tekirdağ — the village clings to steep wooded slopes that drop from the Ganos range straight into the Marmara. Grapes come from the estate's modest holdings and selected regional growers.
The vineyards work with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot alongside the Anatolian red Kalecik Karası, vinified into both single varietals and blends.
The winery's flagship Firuze series — named after the turquoise stone — includes a Merlot–Cabernet Sauvignon blend and a Kalecik Karası–Cabernet Sauvignon blend, plus white, rosé and varietal bottlings.
Wines are currently sold only at the cellar door in Uçmakdere village; the tasting room is open every day except Wednesday.
