Çakır Winery & Vineyards
Kuşçular, Urla
Tasting Culinary Stay Tours Indigenous grapes
A flagship stop on the Urla Wine Route, founded by lawyer couple Sevinç and Erol Çakır. The land — already a 30-year-old vineyard — was acquired in 1999; the winery itself was built in 2017 and made its first commercial harvest in 2018, released as the Somnium series.
The estate sits in Kuşçular village above Urla, on inland hills that catch the Aegean breeze. With an original 8,500 m² old vineyard plus a 30,000 m² extension, total capacity reaches 60,000 litres a year.
The vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and the indigenous Bornova Misketi alongside further varieties — thirteen in total.
The white-stone main building houses an indoor restaurant and garden terraces overlooking the vineyards, paired with estate wines from the Somnium range — some aged in French oak.
Guest rooms, a fireside lounge and a cellar make the estate set up for overnight stays among the vines.
