Hançalar, Çal (Denizli)
Indigenous grapes
A family winery in Hançalar village, Çal (Denizli), run by Hüseyin Kuzu and his sons. Wines are released under the Hanchalar label; the facility processes around 1,000 tons of grapes a year, making it one of the larger producers on the Çal Vineyard Route.
Hançalar sits on the high-altitude viticultural belt of the Çal plateau. The continental climate and wide diurnal temperature swings preserve acidity and aromatic complexity in the grapes.
The estate works with the Anatolian red Öküzgözü alongside international Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc.
Wines are released under the Hanchalar label — including a Sauvignon Blanc and an Öküzgözü–Syrah blend that took second place in an international wine competition in England.
