Midyat Shiluh Süryani Şarapçılık

Midyat (Mardin)

Tasting Tours Indigenous grapes

Shiluh — meaning "peace" in Syriac — was founded in 2009 in Midyat (Mardin) to bring Upper Mesopotamia's century-old grape varieties together with modern winemaking. The first vintage was bottled in 2010.

The vineyards span around 2,000 dönüm across Midyat. Half is planted to the 55–100-year-old indigenous whites Kerkuş and Mazrona — varieties that grow only here — and half to the 35–80-year-old reds Öküzgözü and Boğazkere.

The company carries a 7,000-year viticultural heritage of Upper Mesopotamia together with the Syriac wine tradition of the Tur Abdin region. The production building, built with traditional Midyat stone-cutting, naturally regulates temperature at 17–29 °C through Mesopotamia's hot summers.

The Shiluh range includes Turabdin, Manastır, Ninve, Sargon, Schmayaa, Dara, Kustan and Classic bottlings — both red and white. The producer is also behind the "Shiluh Mesopotamia" line marketed via suryanisarabi.com.
