Statera Şarapçılık
Özbek, Urla
Tasting Culinary Indigenous grapes
A boutique vineyard and winery in Özbek village (Urla), started by Lena and Alihan Haydaroğlu. The first 30,000 m² were planted in 2010, an additional 20,000 m² followed in 2017, and the first vintage worthy of the name was bottled in 2022. Statera — Latin for "balance" — sums up the house philosophy of low yields and sustainability.
The estate sits on the inland Urla peninsula, in the warm Mediterranean Aegean wine belt. Low yields concentrate the fruit.
Plantings include Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Öküzgözü, Grenache and Mourvèdre, and the team has recently grafted the indigenous Bornova Misketi white onto the estate.
The reds include a Cabernet Sauvignon–Syrah–Öküzgözü blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon–Syrah and a Rhône-style GSM (Grenache– Syrah–Mourvèdre).
Tastings and meals at the on-site restaurant run on a six-day schedule (closed Tuesday); reservations recommended.
