Tafali Bağcılık
Kalecik (Ankara)
Tasting Indigenous grapes
A boutique winery in Kalecik (Ankara) founded by agricultural engineers Fatma Yiğit and Alime Cicerali, who started a small vineyard in 2003 and turned it into a commercial operation in 2019. Capacity is around 5,000 litres a year, processing roughly 3,700 kg of grapes.
The vineyard sits in the Kızılırmak valley — the textbook home of Kalecik Karası, with marine-fossil-rich limestone soils and a riverine microclimate.
Tafali works with a single variety: 100 % Kalecik Karası. The house philosophy keeps filtration and bottle counts low.
The two-wine range is a 100 % Kalecik Karası rosé and red, both medal-winners at Narsap's 2023 Turkish Wine Challenge.
