Talay Şarapçılık
Bozcaada
Tasting Stay Indigenous grapes
A Bozcaada winery operating since 1948 and one of the island's six wine producers. The Talay family carries a viticultural heritage said to reach back to Ottoman times; today the business is in its third generation, and the estate remains one of the traditional custodians of the island's indigenous varieties.
Bozcaada's persistent north wind keeps the vines naturally healthy. The vineyards take in the salty Aegean air and the island's rocky, mineral soils.
The range works with the four indigenous Bozcaada varieties: Çavuş and Vasilaki (white) and Kuntra and Karalahna (red).
The cellar door in Bozcaada town is open daily for tastings and bottle purchases.
The family has restored a 45-year-old vineyard house into Talay Bağları Konukevi — a four-room boutique guesthouse that lets visitors stay among the vines and become part of the harvest story.
