MMG Şarapçılık
Bademler, Urla
Tasting Culinary Tours Indigenous grapes
A boutique estate in Bademler village, Urla, started in 2011–2012 by Prof. Dr. Metin Güner as a hobby that grew with family involvement. Today MMG is run by winemaker Meltem Güner Atalay; the estate produces around 20,000 bottles a year.
The vineyard sits at 300 m on the Urla-peninsula hills, about 14 km from Urla town. The land — formerly an olive grove — was planted after a 2012 fire claimed 3,000 olive trees.
Plantings include the indigenous Bornova Misketi alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Pinotage, Chardonnay, Viognier and Black Muscat. Grapes are hand-picked — often at night to preserve aromatics — and vinified naturally in a gravity-flow winery.
The on-site ŞatoInn restaurant (70 seats) and tasting room pair seasonal cuisine with the estate wines. Reservations are required for groups of more than 10.
